Esther's Restaurant in Miami Gardens

I'm from Atlanta and I've been looking for a great soul food restaurant for the longest. I'm the #1CRITIC when it comes to real soul food. I mean, what can I say I'm a Georgia Girl. Well let's get straight to it.My stars come from a variety of thing's dealing with this restaurant. Liver and grits, it wasn't the best I've tasted in the past.

They really fell off it ain’t good like it use to be i ordered the meatloaf meal AND they’re Mac n cheese is DISGUSTING you better off going some where else!!! Save ya money!!!

Worst meal i ever had. I ordered the oxtail dinner it tasted like it was cooked when ketchup was poured over it. The mac and cheese taste like it came out of a can the rice was awful. I tasted the fried pork and was yet disappointed again. I will never eat there again.

It’s unfortunate that this establishment received a 1 because of Lisa (Spanish manager) and I use the term manager loosely. How can someone with such lack of customer service and soul food knowledge become a manager. Her behavior was unacceptable. And this is just the beginning of my complaint. You can teach a person the culture of the food but you can’t teach customer service hence why she should not be a manger she lacks both. And this will not be tolerated by myself. This is just the beginning Ms.Lisa as you stated you don’t care and do what I want and I will see to this is escalated. As I told you you never know who’s in front of you. Be blessed.

They've fell off with the breakfast. I ordered the #1 combo (pan sausage, grits, eggs, hashbrown, and toast) the hashbrown was like it was microwave cooked, the toast wasn't fresh, and the sausage was cold. Not even to mention all the prices are covered and taped on the menu, so you don't know what you're paying until you pull up to the window, smh. My 1st mind said to go to Arline's, I shouldve listened.

Customer service was good, food was good and enough to fill you up. Ashley was very nice and kept a smile.

Employees are not wearing a mask, gloves or a hair net. They touching everything and serving food. I went there to order breakfast. Employee talking over my food screaming fried fish to the chef..... so unprofessional. I just walked out and will not return. It's covid19 at least wear a mask and gloves. Smh

It was horrible. The price are high. The food quality is low. Their out of a lot of food items and the condiments that goes along with your meal.

Hands down the best scrambled eggs I ever hand I live in Tx now and I still dream about it.

The Food was awful I had to throw my food in the trash the rice tasted spoiled the cabbage was hard and had peas and carrots mixed inside the cabbage overall the food was not fresh neither was the food Hot really just ruined my dinner tonight.

Breakfast joint that’s been around FOREVERRR that CANNOT make grits and eggs? Odd. Second time with food that is not of edible quality from this place. Last time i had good food from here was 2004.

I was home visiting & decided to stop by my old hang out. They aren't the same in taste. I'm glad my order was small. I dont know if management has changed or what's going on. Back in the 80's & 90's they were great.

I was given old leftover food had to throw it away the collar green was turning yellow you could not tell until you move them around they need to close up mercer again.

This restaurant has been in the community for several decades. However my recent experience was just ok (food wise). They have always been know for their high quality and delicious food but things have changed. I had the Candied yams, Collard greens and Grilled Chicken Breast with onions. While the food looked appealing, it lacked the taste of true southern style cooking. I can't say I wouldn't go back only because it had been quite a while since I've eaten from their dinner menu and I give at least 2 tries before I eliminate patronizing a restaurant. I would probably just order something a little more simplistic.

Disappointed in comparison to my last visit a year ago. My rice was not cooked all the way, my liver was chewy and the okra was slimy. I know why the bread pudding was only 99cents...it qas dry and hard. Horrible! I returned it all for something I didn't really want but took it home anyway. Someone else ate it!

The garcia sausage was the bomb. Their food is a buffet line except it is not all you can eat. The reason I did not give it a 5 star is because when I asked for cheese on my eggs and grits they gave me cheese sauce 1 cup instead of real cheese.

DO NOT BUY FOOD FROM THIS RESTAURANT!!! I tried to contact the restaurant once I got home but no one answers. I spent $25 for breakfast to feed 3 people. I got home and nothing couldn’t be eaten. The pancakes is cooked (batter wet in middle), the salmon croquettes is not cooked on the inside and burnt on the outside, the Georgia sausage is missing the outer layer, the French toast is not French toast it just plain toast and the bacon is so old!!! This is ridiculous. Just sad you will do your community like that when we’re spending our hard earned money their especially during these troubling times. And the customer service SUCKS!

Long time customer. Owners have let place deteriorate. drive thru speaker does not work. Menu has no prices & need repair. Asked what I would get with my meal. Wasn't given that. Manager's attitude is horrible. Pricing is too high.

The bake chicken is the best thing on the menu!!!

I have been coming here for years,I was very disappointed, the prices have went up,I ordered chicken and fries for my daughter, who usually loves the food ,she didn't like it ,the fries were very greasy and she didn't like the chicken, first time she has ever complained, also several times I have been here they would leave off my meat,a few weeks ago I ordered 3 breakfast meals, they only gave me two ,very disappointed

Man i moved from Miami to Minnesota and when i left the food was 9 times better than what i had yesterday. If it wasnt for the baked chicken this would've been a one star.

They use to have one of these places on 95th st. That was when the food was TOP NOTCH. Now...not so much.

We had an extraordinary time at this restaurant. We liked the first-rate atmosphere and the menu. The staff members are very friendly. I’m happy we finally managed to visit this spot.

Very sad to read these reviews, Esther's was the spot for a good healthy breakfast. I'm planning a visit back to Miami & was looking forward to having a great breakfast. Sadly while reading reviews it sounds like short cuts are the new norm. We know good fresh soul food, trying to use frozen or canned will never work.

Make sure you check your order before you pull off from the drive-thru. It's better to go inside. The food is good but I'm more than one occasion something was wrong

They have the perfect the price, taste ratio... Biggest and tastiest plate in town for under $10 bucks... Their also fast, fresh, and they have a wide selection...

Excellent food, friendly employees, constantly good atmosphere. They charge reasonable prices and the food quality is excellent. I recommend this place.

We always enjoy going to Esther when in town. A local restaurant that grew into a local chain. We've been going since we were a kids and introduced our kids. Now they take their friends when the head back to the East Coast. Over the years we've been to every location. Home cooking with Latin and Southern favorites. Good portions at a fare price. Cafeteria style dining. Order your food at one end of the counter and pick-up at the other end. Most locations have tables.

Great meatloaf. In fact the entire menu is fire!Catering service is so excellent. It fed everybody, over 200 adults plus kids. Esthers on 27th Avenue Miami-Dade ,well done team.✅ ✅ ✅

Gave me food that was not fully cooked and red in the middle, food was so nasty its ridiculous! Absolutely crazy, please close down this place. Please. Your food is trash

I decided to drive the 28 miles to MIA Gardens just for soul & was greeted with new staff & their version of soul food. They are now under new management. No worries...I will NOT be returning.

It depends on your style and likes. If you are a person that donot mind simple, quick food, fast soul food, then you might be okay with this simple restaurant. The workers are very nice, but Be aware of the false prices that is displayed on their menu. Their menu needs to be updated with all the true prices and correct prices.

I remember when you could get a plate from Esther's for less than $5. The food was good and came with cornbread. Yesterday I decided to never go back. I couldn't take another spoon of the garbage they are serving. Who owns the place???
